Day 121: Cheese!

Like mother, like daughter.  Clara loves to take pictures with my phone.  So today we decided to take a picture of each other taking a picture.

Day 120: Happy B-Day Kaycee

Day 119: New Friend

Clara makes friends where ever she goes.  This is a friend she made at another play place....  She also insisted I take a picture of the two of them when it was time for her friend to go home.

Day 118: Brunt Finger

Clara was helping me melt some chocolate for some oreo balls.  I repeatedly told her that the pan and stove was hot, so be careful.  Turns out I should have told her that the chocolate would be hot too, because I heard say through her screams of pain, "I just wanted a little taste."

Day 117: Blue Lemon

For girls night out, we headed to Blue Lemon in Highland.  Turns out there ended up being only 2 of us, and nothing on the menu sounded exciting enough to order, so we ended up leaving and heading to Kneaders instead....  But the restaurant sure did look cool!

Day 116: Cup o Ice

So I've been having an extremely dry throat all week.  I finally discovered the miracle of ice chips today and have been carrying them with me where ever I went.

Day 115: McDonalds

Clara went to McDonalds with her cousin this week.  (Or as Clara calls it: Ronald McDonald's) 

Ok, I know this is supposed to be a picture blog (meaning not too many words.)  But I have to tell this story because I'm so proud of my little Clara.  Clara wanted to bring her happy meal toy with her when she played on the equipment.  At first I said no, because I knew she would lose it and we would have serious issues the entire rest of the day.  But she begged me, so I told her she could if she promised not to cry if she dropped it or accidentally left it somewhere.  She promised and off she went to play.  She was so good keeping track of it until the last 10 minutes or so.  When it was time to leave, it was no where to be found.  We did look for it, but we needed to go, and it wasn't in the play area, so some other kid probably took it any way.  So here comes the proud part.  Clara started to cry.  I gently reminded her of her promise, and she actually stopped!  She was only sad for about 15 minutes, and then she didn't bring it up again!  I couldn't believe it!  If you know my daughter well, you know how huge this was for her to not be sad for hours about something like this.

Day 114: Library Book

We had to return Clara's library book today, and she wanted me to take a picture of it so that she wouldn't forget it.

Day 113: Contortionist

Day 112: Picnic

Clara has been begging me for a week to have a picnic with her outside.  It's been pretty rainy all week, so the first nice day we headed outside.

Day 110: Sleepy Girl

After Clara falls asleep each night, I always go in to make sure she's covered up.  I usually kiss her on the cheek too.  Tonight when I kissed her, she started backing up (in he sleep!)  Luckily she ran into the wall instead of going off the bed.  But her head was on her pillow before I kissed her....

Day 109: Early Night

This is what time it was when I crawled into bed tonight.  Jeremy was out with a friend watching the Three Stooges, and Clara was in bed.  So I got some much  needed rest!

Day 108: Mario Kart

Clara and her friend really wanted to play Mario Kart.  They actually played for quite a long time considering neither of them really knew what they were doing.

Day 107: Math

After I was done tutoring a high school student, Clara came down with a piece of paper and pencil and asked me to pretend like she needed help with her math and I could help her.  So this is what we did.

Day 106: Birthdays

My sister-in-law and niece have the same birthday.  So we got together tonight to celebrate it.  Happy Birthday Kamee and Adanya!

Day 105: Under the Table

My niece was visiting me today and decided that she would hang out under the table.

Day 104: Puppet Show

Clara loves the book If You Give a Moose a Muffin.  If you've never read it, there is a part in there where the moose makes scenery for a puppet show.  Clara begs and begs me to help her make scenery.  The problem is that she wants to tape about 50 pieces of paper together to paint on.  Each time, I try to tell her that you don't need scenery for a puppet show.  Finally, she believed me, and I taught her how to hide behind her table and give a show.  Jeremy and I got to watch puppet shows all night long, but we had a very happy girl.

Day 103: Pink Eye

This is what Clara looked like this morning, and this looks good!  This was after we wiped up the green goo that was keeping her eyes shut, and after she opened her eyes for me. She looked so bad that the dr gave us 2 antibiotics to take! Instead of just the usual eye drops, we got those plus an oral one....  And for those of you who know how much Clara enjoys taking medicine, you know how long the next 10 days are going to be!

Day 102: Jungle Gym

When we first showed up to this park, Clara exclaimed, "I am not going on that.  It's too big!"  But after seeing her cousins climb all over it for an hour, she decided she was going to climb on it as well.  She was so proud of herself for climbing as high as she did.  (She's in the blue circle.)  Click on the picture to see her beaming smile!

Day 101: Bubble Spill

Clara spilled her bubbles and at first, she was devastated.  But then she learned she could make hand prints (and later foot prints) all over our steps and patio area.

Day 100: Hopscotch

Clara wanted me to draw this for her.  She then played hopscotch for the rest of the evening.

Day 99: Up, Down

Clara and Kaycee were playing "Up, Down."  It's a game where you stand up when you say up, and you sit down when you say down.  It was fun to hear little Kaycee laughing and giggling as she would say up and down over and over again!

Day 98: Cheers!

This was hanging on the wall of a home I visited today.  Oh how I used to watch this show a lot.

Day 97: Snow

I know I blog way too much about the weather...  But since it's so confusing this year, I have yet another weather related entry...

The forecast said that we should get rain/snow mix.  So I was shocked to wake up this morning and see that snow was actually sticking to the ground!

Day 96: Dandelions

Any ideas on how to keep your yard dandelion free, especially when your neighbor's yard looks like this?  (My yard is the yard in the front of the picture, so be sure to look closely at that yard behind the fence!)

Day 95: Lunch

We had our neighbor kids over for lunch today.

Day 94: Squiggles

Clara has developed an obsession with swirls.  One day she even asked me if she could learn about swirls in school.  But I found this (unfinished drawing of hers) to be the best of her swirl fetish.
